أصبح الإنترنت أو ما يسمى بالشبكة العنبكبوتية، أحد الأساسيات في حياة الإنسان، فالإنترنت جعل العالم أشبه بقرية صغيرة، فيمكنك من خلاله التواصل مع الآخرين وكأنهم أمامك، وأصبح أحد طرق التعليم الحديثة لجميع المراحل الدراسيّة لتوفيره المواقع التي تساعد المستخدمين بالحصول على المؤلفات والكتب، وتشرح لهم الدروس أيضاً، وتعتبر رائدةً في مجال الطب فأصبح الطبيب يستطيع إجراء عملياته للمرضى عن طريق الإنترنت، فقد تربع على عرش وسائل الاتصال الجماهيريّ فأصبح يجمع بين التلفاز والإذاعات والصحف وغيرها الكثير، إذ يتيح للمستخدم أن يشاهد الأحداث العالمية، ومعرفة آخر الأخبار السريعة عن طريق الصحف الإلكترونيّة ووسائل الاتصال الإجتماعي عبر مواقعها، ويقضي الإنسان يومياً مع الإنترنت لساعات طويلة دون ملل؛ لأنها أصبحت الرفيق الأول للإنسان.
