On the other hand, if the active worksheet is blank, the table is added there.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"naming-tables\">\n                        Naming Tables<br \/>\n               <\/h2>\n<p>Now that you&#8217;ve created your table, one of the first things you should do is to name it. Table names can&#8217;t:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n                                        Be &#8220;TRUE&#8221; or &#8220;FALSE,&#8221;\n                        <\/li>\n<li>\n                                        Be the same as an existing table name or cell reference,\n                        <\/li>\n<li>\n                                        Start with a number,\n                        <\/li>\n<li>\n                                        Contain more than 255 characters,\n                        <\/li>\n<li>\n                                        Contain special characters (other than underscores), or\n                        <\/li>\n<li>\n                                        Contain spaces (these are changed to underscores by default).\n                        <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Aside from the above rules, as long as your table name is short yet descriptive, you can&#8217;t go wrong.<\/p>\n<section class=\"emaki-custom-block emaki-custom-tip\" data-nosnippet=\"\">\n<div class=\"emaki-custom tip\" id=\"custom_block_29\">\n<div class=\"custom_block-content tip\">\n<p>To jump to any table in a Google Sheets file, regardless of its location, click the down arrow in the name box to the left of the formula bar.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/section>\n<h2 id=\"selecting-column-types\">\n                        Selecting Column Types<br \/>\n               <\/h2>\n<p>Once you&#8217;ve created and named your table and inserted appropriate column headers, it&#8217;s time to tell Google Sheets what type of data will go in each column.
