They&#8217;re a powerful and efficient way to look up a value in a dataset, and return a corresponding result.<\/p>\n<p>Microsoft lists <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/en-gb\/office\/lookup-and-reference-functions-reference-8aa21a3a-b56a-4055-8257-3ec89df2b23e\">36 lookup and reference functions<\/a>, but XLOOKUP and INDEX with MATCH are the most useful for day-to-day data referencing.
