In this guide, I&#8217;ll share four lesser-known, hidden tricks that could transform how you use the popular spreadsheet software.<\/p>\n<p>    <!-- No AdsNinja v10 Client! --><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"goal-seek-for-long-term-planning\">\n            <span class=\"item-num\">4 <\/span><br \/>\n        <span><br \/>\n                            Goal Seek for Long-Term Planning<br \/>\n                    <\/span><br \/>\n       <\/h2>\n<p>Microsoft Excel&#8217;s little-known Goal Seek tool is there to help when you know the end goal, but don&#8217;t know how to get there.<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s say you plan to buy a new home in two years&#8217; time. This is where Excel&#8217;s Goal Seek tool comes into play.<\/p>\n<p>First, select the cell containing the calculation (in this case, cell B4), and in the Data tab on the ribbon, click What-If Analysis &gt; Goal Seek.<\/p>\n<section class=\"emaki-custom-block emaki-custom-note\" data-nosnippet=\"\">\n<div class=\"emaki-custom note\" id=\"custom_block_9\">\n<div class=\"custom_block-content note\">\n<p>The total value must be a calculation. Since you selected this cell before launching the dialog box, it has populated automatically.\n                        <\/li>\n<li>\n                                        <strong>To Value:<\/strong> This is the value you need to reach to achieve the end goal.
