After a week of ridicule, the PS5 Pro is now the object of gamers’ desires. It’s all thanks to the PlayStation 30th Anniversary Collection, a limited collection of consoles covered in “retro” gray plastic. Nostalgia is the ultimate Jedi mind trick.
the PlayStation 30th Anniversary Edition It taps into the original PlayStation design language. There’s that ‘retro’ gray plastic, as well as the original multi-colour PlayStation logo and a bunch of retro accessories. The USB-C cable that comes with the 30th anniversary PS5 Pro is particularly notable, as it mimics the look and feel of the old PlayStation console cable.
Every recent Sony console and accessory, with the exception of the standard PS5 and PSVR2, will get the 30th anniversary treatment. However, the retro-colored PS5 Pro and PS5 Digital Edition will not be available as standalone units — they are Collected With a bunch of stuff. Jokes aside, the PlayStation 30th Anniversary Collection looks pretty great. The gray plastic is more attractive than the PS5’s standard white Stormtrooper color, and the colorful old PlayStation logo is just a gem. I truly Sony wants to get rid of the boring, monochromatic, corporate logo it adopted during the PS3 era.
