Besides a long list of iconic PlayStation letters that you can set as your virtual profile image, you can also represent your PSN account with a customized image. Here is how.
What do you know before choosing a dedicated profile image
Your PSN account – is not confused with local user accounts – has both “Avatar” and “Profile Image”. While these may appear as switched conventions, there is an important difference between them.
Your Avatar is the default image that appears when random strangers look at your profile or see you playing online. However, you can only set it on one of the virtual images that have the PlayStation on the control unit or avatar downloaded from the PlayStation Store in PS4.
“Profile image” is a separate image visible to you only and anyone in your friends list. Your profile image will be set on the same image as the Avatar by default, but you can replace it with any customized image.
In addition, they display PS4 and PS5 symbolic images and profile photos differently. While the PS4 displays the full profile image, your image will be held on the PS5. For example, your full profile image will be presented on the PS4.
On the other hand, the PS5 displays the profile images in a circular frame, which leads to the confirmation of the edges and part of the image that is lost.
However, before you can start using a custom profile on PS4 or PS5, you will need to download an image on your PSN profile from the official PlayStation website or mobile phone application. Which is preferred, make sure that the customized image you want to set as your new profile image is stored on the computer or mobile device you will use.
