Over the years, GIF images have become the actual criterion for sharing the reaction memes quickly on social media. Most GIF search engines are integrated smoothly, making it easy to find the perfect GIF regardless of context. However, there is one blatant problem with coordination: it lacks sound.
What made GIF photos such a big deal?
It is easy to know the cause of popular GIF images between users. GIF images provide a dedicated response method by allowing users to share animated images. They can pick up the movement effectively (and therefore passion), which makes online communication more expressive and attractive.
GIF images are comfortable and downloaded quickly, even on the slower connections, allowing a smooth online reaction. Thanks to GIF browsers such as Giphy and Tenor, you can find a meme or the exact TV you are looking for in just seconds without having to search for it online. In addition, if there is no GIF you currently want, it is easy to make yourself.
However, it is also important to understand the technical reasons that made GIF very prevailing. I will not bring you long history of GIF and how coordination has fallen into mystery before the M -culture is ultimately restored.
Instead, all you need to know is that GIF is a wide -a scale file format. It works reliably in most applications, allowing users to share and view GIF images without facing compatibility problems. The file size is relatively small (although it is still larger several times than MP4) and uses pressure without loss, which means that it maintains the quality of the original video image.
Short clips will be much better
Don’t understand me wrong, I love GIF and use them all the time. When it comes to transferring strong emotions online, GIF images are better without limits than emojis and public posters. It is so fun that passing through the choice easily turns into a source of entertainment itself. It is just a complete ignorance of the sound that makes the experience feel not complete.
Imagine how MEME will be the most entertainment if it also included the sound. I compete that almost every GIF will be more enjoyable if the sound also includes. Simply put, short videos will be better than GIF photos if we have a way to share it quickly.
A great example is to include the video on the dispute. By including the video in Discord, everyone can watch it directly from the application. However, this also requires you to find the clip on a different platform and a solution to include it.
In many cases, this is the sound that made the virus in the first place, such as Recroll and no one gets time for that. If you are using the rear sound board, you know exactly how the funny sound can be itself.
Since the clips are still not an option, the current alternative solution is to create a joint image with translations, leaving the rest of the recipient’s imagination. If they do not know the origin, they will not get your reference, and leave the joke to fall and cross the reference in the translation.
Why do we not have pictures with sound?
GIF is a picture format, which simply means that it does not support the sound. You can think about animated images as digital books: a series of images is played in a sequence to create the appearance of movement.
Some websites claim that they created GIF photos with sound, but actually short clips with MP4 or Webm file format. If we want to add a sound to GIF, we must use a different format, making it GIF from an artistic point of view.
However, there is no excuse why we do not have short clip browsers as well as GIF images yet. You think that the server storage will be a problem. However, MP4 files are largely smaller than GIFS, and web files are smaller, all at the time that contains sound and has better visual accuracy than GIF. For this reason, most GIF databases moved to MP4 using the GIFV file. Most of the GIF photos that you see on the web are actually MP4 videos that behave like GIF.
Maybe we have no clips because it is the problem of copyright. Then again, GIF photos are used by copyrights protected in a manufacturing manner usually located under fair use.
I think we have a technology to create a browser in the same way as the current GIF browsers. If implemented, the sound of the sound should be by default to prevent annoying sounds from playing while passing through Facebook comments. Just think about all the advanced options that we can use as a chat instead of those ancient dusty animated images.
